Restoration
He Restores My Soul. (Psalm 23:3)
I almost threw them out. The pack of violas had been left too long without proper soil or water, and they were dried up and wilted. They appeared dead. I decided I would plant them anyway, in nice rich soil and I would water them richly. Days went by and they looked as lifeless as ever. But then… imagine my delight when, one day, a blaze of color appeared. There they were! Healthy and revived!
I am so glad I didn’t throw the flowers away.
There are times in my life when hurts and disappointments drain me, and like those neglected plants; my soul feels dried up and broken. I am tempted to quit.
God always has a way of getting me through those times.
If I stay planted in the rich soil of God’s love and allow His words to water me, I survive. I even, sometimes, thrive. I am so glad I didn’t throw the flowers away.
(They looked pretty hopeless, but I planted them anyway.)
